We divide to connect
Blobel Films' premise is to address socially relevant topics in such a way that they lose none of their explosiveness while remaining firmly anchored in genre cinema, aiming to reach a large audience so that they participate in the discussion. We believe that art house and entertainment do not have to be an oxymoron and, on the contrary, the masterpieces of film history form a symbiosis of the best elements of both.
Our story
At the age of 15, we made two decisions that at first glance seem incompatible: That we would dedicate our lives to making movies and that we would never attend film school. Although the second decision demonstrates a great deal of youthful arrogance, we have never regretted it. Because it allowed us to choose the teachers from whom we really wanted to learn: Directors like Stanley Kubrick, Luis Bunuel or Marlen Chuzijew have left us through their filmography a film school in which anyone is accepted as a student. At least anyone who can pay the tuition: a manic love for the medium of cinema.
